Services
Geriatrics
The focus is on maintaining strength, range of motion, and balance in order to perform all functional activities so the patient can focus on participating in what’s most important – spending time and participating in activities with friends and family. I will create a treatment plan that will pinpoint your weakest areas using standardized tests for balance, strength, and range of motion which will result in more meaningful outcomes. Safety is number one and I will always be present during balance and movement training.
- Patient expectation
- To continue or to return to an independent life of activities with decreased assistance needed by caregiver.
Most Insurance Accepted
Orthopedics
The objective is to use movement analysis and differential diagnosis to determine source of pain by reproducing pain through standardized tests and measures. Once the source of pain is determined, a treatment plan will be created to target specific impairments affecting range of motion, strength, and/or coordination with the overall goal to restore normal movement and reduce pain back to normal levels. Areas include cervical/neck, thoracic/mid back, lumbar/low back, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hands, hips, knees, ankles, feet.
- Patient expectation
- To decrease musculoskeletal and nervous pain

Balance and Fall Prevention
The focus is on improving static(without movement ie- sitting, standing) and dynamic balance(with movement ie- walking on even surfaces, walking on uneven surfaces, negotiating stairs/inclines/declines) using standardized tests to determine which impairments need to be targeted.
- Patient expectation
- To decrease falling episodes/to decrease ankle sprains/to improve coordination

Joint Replacement Therapy
The objective is to maximize the patient’s joint replacement by guiding the patient through the joint replacement protocol. I will take care of exercises, sequences, parameters, and provide instructions for homecare. Since I am licensed as a Doctor of Physical therapy, I have been trained to modify any exercise to meet your specific joint replacement post op goals.
Examples of joint replacement:
Disc replacements (cervical, thoracic, lumber),
Shoulder replacement
Elbow replacement
Hip replacement
Knee replacement.
- Patient expectation
- Will be able to return or start activity of choice with new joint with maximum results including range of motion, strength, and movement.
- Can expect less impairments and movement dysfunction by end of treatment plan.

Arthritis therapy
The objective is to maximize range of motion using movement analysis and understanding of the body to decrease as much discomfort as possible during the process. Typically patients will have discomfort the first few sessions of therapy but will notice a decrease in symptoms and improvement in movements within a couple of weeks. Therapeutic exercise, manual soft tissue and joint mobilizations, and appropriate modalities will be used.
- Patient expectation
- Pain will still be present but intensity, duration, and frequency of symptoms will be less. Ex: Instead of pain for 2-3 hours in the morning at a 7/10, pain can be expected to be a 4/10 or less for 1 hour or less in the morning. Participation in activities of daily living will become more tolerable

I will work with the patient to determine areas life, movement, home, work, that are affecting the patient secondary to neurological impairments. Treatments often include balance training, movement training, coordination training, transfer training, neuromuscular training, strength training, range of motion, and appropriate modalities such as neuromuscular electrical stimulation (russian).
- Patient expectation
- The goal is to help the patient return/maintain their ideal activities so they can live their best life with high quality of life.

TMJ therapy
The objective is to reduce symptoms secondary to TMJ discomfort that may be causing pain with eating, talking, drinking, chewing. If pain is substantial, pain may become chronic and be present during all activities during the day. Treatments include movement and posture analysis of painful activity(ie chewing), manual therapy such as soft tissue and joint mobilization to decrease symptoms during specific movement, posture training of mouth correct for movement dysfunctions, therapeutic exercise to strengthen shoulder complex and reduce load from muscles of the cervical and TMJ, neuromuscular activation of the appropriate muscles to reduce cocontraction and lessening pain intensity, as well as using appropriate modalities.
- Patient expectation
- To reduce pain secondary to TMJ and return to normal preferred activities including work and leisure.
